This Privacy Policy explains how MakeBOF ("MakeBOF", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you use makebof.com and its related services (the "Service").
Information We Collect
- Account information: your email address, username and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, email address and name.
- Content you provide: TikTok Shop product links, product data, images and videos you upload, captions, prompts, style settings and posting account details.
- Generated content: images and videos the Service creates for you.
- Billing information: your plan, purchase history, checkout sessions and your customer ID with our payment processor. Card details are collected and stored by the payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- How you found us: when you first visit, we note the page you landed on, the website that sent you (without its query string), any campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source) and any ad click ID. If you sign up, we save this with your account, along with your answer to "Where did you hear about us?" if you give one.
- Usage and technical data: pages you view, buttons you click, sign-in times, feature usage, error logs, your browser and device type, and your approximate location based on your IP address. For abuse prevention we keep hashed (not raw) IP address and browser identifiers.
- Email activity: which emails we sent you, whether you unsubscribed, and which links in our emails you clicked.
How We Use Information
- To provide the Service, including generating, captioning, storing and delivering your videos.
- To create and secure your account, verify your email address and reset your password.
- To process payments, enforce plan limits and remind you about a checkout you didn't finish.
- To prevent fraud, spam and abuse of the Service.
- To understand how people find and use MakeBOF, measure our ads, and improve the Service.
- To send you emails about your account and, as described below, marketing emails.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not train AI models on your content.
Analytics and Advertising
- Product analytics and session replay. Our analytics provider records the pages you view and the buttons you click. It also records session replays: a reconstruction of how you move through our pages (your clicks, scrolling and the pages you open), which we watch to find and fix parts of the Service that are hard to use. Everything you type is masked, including on the sign-in, sign-up and password pages, and we hide your email address, username, plan and billing details. When you are signed in, we share only your numeric account ID with it, never your email or name.
- Advertising partners. We tell the social media platforms where we advertise when someone visits our site, signs up or starts a checkout, so we can measure our ads and show ads to people who may be interested in MakeBOF. With these events we send a hashed (scrambled, one-way) version of your email address and account ID, your IP address, your browser type and, if you came from one of our ads, the ad's click ID. Each platform uses this under its own privacy policy.
You can limit this by blocking third-party cookies or using a tracker blocker in your browser, and by changing the ad settings in the apps where you see our ads. The Service works the same either way.

The first four are needed for the Service to work. The rest are for analytics and advertising.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask first. Until you press Accept on our cookie banner, we do not load our analytics or advertising tools, do not set mb_ft or mb_ttclid, and do not send advertising events about your visit. If you press Decline, none of this happens and the Service works the same. We remember your choice in a cookie called mb_consent for 6 months, and you can change it at any time from the "Cookie settings" link on our home, sign-in and sign-up pages.
Emails
- Account emails: sign-in and verification codes, password resets, receipts and messages about your videos and plan. These are sent through an email delivery provider. You can't turn them off while you have an account, because the Service needs them.
- Marketing emails: product tips, trending products, new styles, offers and reminders about a checkout you didn't finish. These are sent through an email delivery provider. If you live in the United States, we may send them once you create an account. If you live elsewhere, we only send them if you tick the box to receive them when you sign up.
Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link that works with one click, and our mailing address. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails only. You will still get account emails.
Community and Support Chat
If you join the MakeBOF community chat server, the chat platform handles your account and messages there under its own privacy policy. Our support assistant can read messages in the server's channels. When you ask a question in the help channel, it sends the text of your question (not your name) to an AI provider to write an answer. Questions that are clearly about your account, payments or refunds are not sent to the AI provider; the assistant points you to [email protected] instead. The assistant can't see or change your MakeBOF account.
If you link your chat account to MakeBOF, we keep your chat user ID together with your MakeBOF account ID and check your plan every hour to give you the paid member role.
Service Providers
We share information with service providers that process it on our behalf, only as needed for the purposes above:
- Payment processor: payments, subscriptions and card details
- Email delivery providers: account emails and marketing emails
- Product analytics and session replay provider: how the Service is used, as described above
- Advertising partners: ad measurement and advertising, as described above
- Google: Google sign-in, if you choose it
- AI providers: generating images and videos from your product information and prompts, writing prompts and captions, shortening product names, and answering questions in our support chat
- Data providers: retrieving public TikTok Shop product and video data
- Cloud hosting, storage and security providers: running the Service, delivering pages and fonts, bot protection, encrypted backups, a standby server for outages, and error monitoring
- Community chat platform: our community server and support chat
We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
We and most of these providers are in the United States. If you use the Service from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Data Retention
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. You can delete videos and products at any time.
You can delete your account in your account settings, or by emailing us. Deleting your account cancels any subscription right away. We then wait 7 days, in case you change your mind, and after that permanently delete your personal information and content. We keep only what we need for legal, tax, accounting or security reasons, such as payment records. Copies in our encrypted backups are deleted along with it, or on our regular backup schedule.
If you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we keep your email address on a do-not-email list so the unsubscribe keeps working.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to opt out of targeted advertising. To make a request, email [email protected]. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. If you are in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections, hashed passwords and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service before they take effect.
