MakeBOF vs Creatify: which is better for TikTok Shop videos?

Creatify is one of the best-known AI video ad tools. You give it a product URL and it builds a video ad. It has AI avatars and templates, plus an API for teams that automate their ads. If you're reading Creatify reviews because you sell or promote products on TikTok Shop, you may want a Creatify alternative built for that one job.

MakeBOF is the narrower tool. You paste TikTok Shop products, pick a style, and it turns each product into a short vertical video with captions, a whole batch at a time. In this MakeBOF vs Creatify comparison, Creatify comes out ahead on avatars, long videos and the API. MakeBOF costs less per short clip than Creatify's published API rates and pulls products straight from TikTok Shop.

The short answer

If you need an AI presenter or ads longer than a few seconds, Creatify is the stronger tool, and it has an API that MakeBOF doesn't. If you post lots of short TikTok Shop product videos, MakeBOF imports the listings for you and runs the whole batch on its own. An 8-second Standard clip costs $0.20 to $0.38 depending on plan, against roughly $0.60 to $1.11 for an 8-second clip on Creatify's API.

Pick MakeBOF if

  • You want listings pulled straight from TikTok Shop with their photos, price and sales, and re-checked on a schedule.
  • You post several videos a day across a few TikTok accounts and want a batch to run without babysitting it.
  • You'd rather pick a ready-made style than write prompts or scripts.
  • You want a simple price: 1 credit per Standard video, charged only when the video finishes.
  • You're starting out on a small budget. Pro is $19 a month for 50 Standard videos.

Pick Creatify if

  • You want an AI avatar or actor talking to camera about the product.
  • You need longer ads: up to 2 minutes on Standard and up to 10 minutes on Pro and above.
  • You have a developer and want an API that turns your product feed into ads.
  • You test paid ads across several platforms and want one tool for all of them.
  • You'd rather hand the work to someone else through Creatify Studio, its managed service.

As listed on October 16, 2026. Each paid web plan shows two prices without labels next to a "Save 20% on annual plan" banner, so the lower one is probably the monthly price when billed yearly. The page doesn't confirm it. API credits come with the separate API plans.

What one short video costs

On MakeBOF, a Standard video uses 1 credit. Pro is $19 for 50 credits, so $19 / 50 = $0.38 a video. Max is $49 / 200 = $0.245 and Scale is $99 / 500 = $0.198. Pro paid yearly is $190 / 600, about $0.32. Premium videos use 2 or more credits, so they cost at least double.

Creatify's API bills its Aurora models by the second. An 8-second Aurora 2.0 clip at 720p is 8 × 0.7 = 5.6 credits. API Starter is $99 for 500 credits ($0.198 a credit), so that clip costs about $1.11. On API Pro ($299 / 2,000 = $0.1495 a credit) it's about $0.84. Aurora 1.0 Fast is 0.5 credits a second, so 4 credits: about $0.79 on Starter and $0.60 on Pro. Aurora is a different model from the ones MakeBOF uses, so treat these as a ballpark.

Creatify doesn't publish how many credits a video uses on its web plans, and says usage varies by model, feature and output. That means we can't give a per-video price for Standard, Pro or Max. On the API, URL to Video is 5 credits per 30 seconds and Product Video is 10 credits per 30 seconds, and we couldn't find how a clip shorter than 30 seconds is billed.

What is Creatify?

Creatify makes AI video ads for performance marketers, DTC brands and agencies. Its best-known feature is URL to video: you give it a product page and it builds an ad. You can put AI avatars and actors on screen, start from templates, and make ads up to 10 minutes long on the Pro plan and above.

There's also an API, which Creatify's docs describe for turning a bulk e-commerce feed into short ads, and a managed service called Creatify Studio for teams that want someone else to make the videos. Paid plans remove the watermark, and the pricing page says "You own all of your creatives, even after your plan ends."

Where Creatify is the better choice

If you want a person on screen, pick Creatify. It has AI avatars and actors, and MakeBOF has neither, nor any voiceover. If you're comparing avatar tools in general, we've also looked at HeyGen.

Length is the next gap. MakeBOF makes one clip of about 8 seconds per product. Creatify's Standard plan goes up to 2 minutes and its higher plans up to 10, which leaves room for a full demo or a scripted ad.

Creatify also has an API, and MakeBOF doesn't offer one to customers. With a developer and a product feed, API Starter ($99 a month) or API Pro ($299) lets you generate ads from your own systems. If you run paid ads on several platforms and want one place to make and test them, Creatify covers more ground, and Creatify Studio is there if you'd rather not do the work yourself.

Where MakeBOF is the better choice

MakeBOF starts from TikTok Shop. Paste a product link, or a shop or creator username, and it pulls the listings with their photos, price and sales. You can set a source to re-scrape every 1, 6, 12 or 24 hours so new products come in without you checking. We couldn't find a TikTok Shop integration on Creatify's site.

Batches are the second difference. In MakeBOF you pick a style, such as "That Price" (an in-store find) or Flash Sale, queue your products, and every video follows that style. Videos run several at a time (2 on Pro, 4 on Max, 6 on Scale), the rest start on their own, and you can watch progress live. Creatify doesn't advertise a batch mode on its plans. Its closest feature is parallel generations, from 1 at a time on Standard to 10 on Max.

Then there's what a clip costs. A Standard video is 1 credit, charged only when the video finishes, so a failed one costs nothing. Creatify's pricing page doesn't say what happens to credits when a render fails, and some reviewers on Trustpilot say failed or unusable renders still used up their credits.

Workflow: making 30 product videos in each tool

In MakeBOF

Say you want 30 videos for products from one TikTok shop. You paste the shop username and MakeBOF imports its listings. You pick the 30 products you want, choose a style and start the batch. On Pro, 2 videos generate at once and the other 28 wait in the queue and start automatically.

For each product, MakeBOF makes an AI image of it in your style, turns that into an 8-second vertical video, then burns captions on. The batch uses 30 of Pro's 50 monthly credits. When it's done, you can sort the videos by the TikTok accounts you post from.

In Creatify

Creatify's plans don't list a batch mode, so in the web app you'd make the 30 ads as separate URL to video projects, picking the avatar or template you want for each. On Creatify Pro, 5 can render at once. Creatify doesn't mention TikTok Shop support, so try a couple of your product links on the free plan first and see what it pulls from them.

If you have a developer, the API is closer to a batch. Creatify's docs describe sending in a bulk e-commerce feed and getting short ads back, on an API plan from $99 a month.

Cost at real TikTok Shop volume

Posting 5 videos a day across 3 accounts comes to about 450 videos a month. Here's what 100, 300 and 450 short clips a month cost at the listed prices, using MakeBOF Standard videos and 8-second clips on Creatify's API.

  • 100 videos: MakeBOF Max ($49, 200 credits), or Pro plus a 60-credit pack ($19 + $18 = $37). On Creatify, 100 Aurora 1.0 Fast clips use 400 credits and fit API Starter ($99). 100 Aurora 2.0 clips at 720p use 560 credits, more than Starter's 500, so you'd need API Pro ($299).
  • 300 videos: MakeBOF Scale ($99, 500 credits). On Creatify, 300 clips use 1,200 credits on Aurora 1.0 Fast or 1,680 on Aurora 2.0 at 720p. Both need API Pro ($299).
  • 450 videos: still MakeBOF Scale ($99). On Creatify, Aurora 1.0 Fast needs 1,800 credits and fits API Pro ($299). Aurora 2.0 at 720p needs 2,520, more than API Pro includes.

We didn't price these on Creatify's web plans because it doesn't publish how many credits a video uses there. Max has 730 credits a month and Business has 1,500, but without a per-video figure we can't say how many 8-second ads that buys. If you use Premium videos on MakeBOF, double the MakeBOF credit counts.

Questions people ask

How much does Creatify cost?

As listed on October 16, 2026, Creatify has a free plan with 10 credits a month and watermarked exports. Paid web plans are Standard ($15 or $12 a month), Pro ($55 or $44), Max ($95 or $76) and Business ($195 or $156). Each shows two prices without saying which is which, beside a banner offering 20% off annual plans. The API plans are separate: API Starter is $99 a month for 500 credits and API Pro is $299 for 2,000.

Is Creatify good for TikTok Shop?

Creatify makes product video ads, and its URL to video feature works from a product link. We couldn't find a TikTok Shop integration, though, and no plan advertises a batch mode. It suits avatar ads and longer scripted ads best. If you post many short product videos a day for TikTok Shop, a tool that imports your listings and runs whole batches will save you more time.

What's a cheaper Creatify alternative for TikTok Shop?

MakeBOF is built for this. Pro is $19 a month for 50 credits, or $0.38 per 8-second Standard video, and Scale brings that down to about $0.20. The closest Creatify figure we can work out is its API, at about $0.60 to $1.11 for an 8-second clip. MakeBOF won't give you avatars or long ads, so it's the cheaper option when short product clips are what you post. You can start on the free plan with 10 credits and no card.

Can Creatify make videos in bulk?

It isn't a listed plan feature. Creatify's web plans run several generations in parallel (1 on Standard, 5 on Pro, 10 on Max), and its docs describe sending a bulk e-commerce feed through the API to get short ads back. That route needs a developer and an API plan. In MakeBOF you queue a batch in the app and it runs on its own.

Creatify vs Arcads: which is better for avatar ads?

Both put AI people on screen. Arcads makes AI actor videos from your script and doesn't publish a price list. Creatify lists its prices and adds URL to video and an API. We couldn't find TikTok Shop import in either. There's more on Arcads in MakeBOF vs Arcads.

Who owns the videos I make with Creatify or MakeBOF?

Creatify's pricing page says "You own all of your creatives, even after your plan ends." MakeBOF's terms say you keep ownership of what you upload and, as far as the law and the AI providers' terms allow, of the videos it generates.

Does MakeBOF have avatars or an API like Creatify?

No. MakeBOF makes one vertical clip of about 8 seconds per product, with captions. It has no talking avatars, voiceover, timeline editor or customer API, and captions are in English. If you need those, Creatify or Topview is a closer fit.
