MakeBOF vs Zebracat: which is better for TikTok Shop product videos?
Looking for a Zebracat alternative for TikTok Shop, or weighing MakeBOF vs Zebracat? The two tools do different jobs. Zebracat is a general AI video generator. You give it a prompt, a script, a blog URL or an audio file, and it builds a video with automatic captions and, if you like, an AI avatar reading the script. It also lists social scheduling. MakeBOF is built only for TikTok Shop products. You paste a product link or a shop username, pick a style, and each product becomes a short vertical promo video.
Going by Zebracat's own plan counts, one video costs about $1.48 to $2.60 (as listed on October 16, 2026). A MakeBOF Standard video costs $0.20 to $0.38 from plan prices. Zebracat's videos can run for minutes, though, and MakeBOF makes one clip of about 8 seconds per product, so the better deal depends on what you post.
The short answer
If you post short TikTok Shop product videos, MakeBOF costs less per video at most volumes and saves setup work, because it imports your products and runs a whole batch in one style. If you make explainers, faceless channel content, avatar videos or anything longer than a few seconds, Zebracat does far more, and its 7-day money-back guarantee makes a paid plan easier to try. At very high volume its Unlimited Cat plan can come out cheaper per video, which we work through below.
Pick MakeBOF if
- You promote TikTok Shop products and would rather paste a link or shop username than write a script for each one.
- You post a lot. A MakeBOF Standard video costs $0.20 to $0.38 from plan prices, against about $1.48 to $2.60 on Zebracat's Cat Mode and Super Cat plans.
- You want a whole batch in one look, from a ready-made style such as a try-on haul or a flash-sale promo.
- You don't want to pay for failures. Credits are charged only when a video finishes.
- You post from several TikTok accounts and want finished videos kept sorted by account.
Pick Zebracat if
- You make explainers, faceless channel videos or other content that isn't about a single product.
- You want to turn a blog post, a script or an audio file into a video.
- You need videos longer than a few seconds, a voice reading your script, or an AI avatar on screen.
- You want to schedule social posts from the same tool you make videos in.
- You want a 7-day money-back guarantee while you test a paid plan.

What one short video costs
Zebracat sells a set number of videos per plan, so if you use all of them the math is simple. Cat Mode is $39 ÷ 15 = $2.60 a video monthly, or $23 ÷ 15 ≈ $1.53 billed yearly. Super Cat is $99 ÷ 40 ≈ $2.48 monthly, or $59 ÷ 40 ≈ $1.48 billed yearly. Unlimited Cat has no video cap, so its cost per video depends on how many you make.
A MakeBOF Standard video uses 1 credit. Pro is $19 ÷ 50 = $0.38, Max is $49 ÷ 200 = $0.245 and Scale is $99 ÷ 500 ≈ $0.20. Pro paid yearly is $190 ÷ 600 ≈ $0.32. Premium videos use 2 or more credits, so they cost at least double. A Zebracat video can be minutes long and a MakeBOF video is about 8 seconds, so read these as the price of one finished post.
What is Zebracat?
Zebracat is an AI video generator for marketers and creators. Its homepage lists social media videos, video ads, faceless videos, explainers, avatar clips and audio-to-video snippets. You start from a prompt, a script, a URL (it names blog URLs specifically) or an audio file. Captions are added automatically, an AI avatar can read your script on screen, and the site lists scheduling for social posts.
It isn't built specifically for e-commerce. The site links to a product video use case, and avatars can present a product on the higher plans, but we found no mention of TikTok Shop, product import or bulk creation. Plans are sold by the number of videos per month, plus a monthly pool of generative AI credits.
Where Zebracat is the better choice
Zebracat covers many more kinds of video than MakeBOF. If you run a faceless channel, turn blog posts into clips or need an explainer with a voice reading a script, Zebracat can make it and MakeBOF can't. MakeBOF has no avatars, no voiceover, no timeline editor and no long or multi-scene edits.
Zebracat's videos can also be much longer. Its paid plans go well past a minute (its pricing table lists 2-minute and 5-minute limits), while MakeBOF makes one clip of about 8 seconds per product. Zebracat also lists social scheduling, which saves a step if you post to several platforms, and it offers a 7-day money-back guarantee.

Where MakeBOF is the better choice
MakeBOF starts from the product. Paste a TikTok Shop product link or a shop or creator username and it pulls each listing with its photos, price and sales. You can bulk import, and a source can re-scrape automatically every 1, 6, 12 or 24 hours.
Then you pick a ready-made style, such as GirlyPop UGC try-on, "That Price" in-store find, Flash Sale or Furniture in a real room, and every video in the batch follows it. You don't write prompts. The AI first makes a styled image of the product, turns it into a 9:16 video of about 8 seconds and burns on captions with emoji. Standard videos use 1 credit. Premium uses 2 and makes a multi-shot video using several product photos as reference.
Batches run on their own. Free generates 1 video at a time, Pro 2, Max 4 and Scale 6; extra videos queue and start automatically while you watch progress live. A failed video costs nothing, and finished videos can be kept sorted by the TikTok accounts you post from.
Workflow: making 30 product videos in each tool
In Zebracat
Thirty videos is more than Cat Mode's 15 a month, so you'd need Super Cat (40 videos, $99 a month or $59 billed yearly). We couldn't find a batch mode or a TikTok Shop import, so plan on starting each of the 30 videos yourself from a prompt, a script or a URL about that product. On Super Cat you can also have an avatar present the product.
In MakeBOF
Paste the shop username, select 30 products from the imported list, pick one style and queue them. Thirty Standard videos use 30 credits, which fits inside Pro's 50 a month. On Pro, 2 videos generate at once and the rest wait in the queue; on Max, 4 run at once. Each finished video already has its captions, and you can file it under the posting account it's meant for.
Cost at real TikTok Shop volume
Posting 5 videos a day across 3 accounts is about 450 videos a month. Here is what 100 and 450 Standard videos a month cost at each tool's listed prices.
- 100 videos a month. Zebracat's Super Cat stops at 40, so you'd need Unlimited Cat: $199 a month ($1.99 a video) or $119 billed yearly ($1.19). MakeBOF Max at $49 covers 100 Standard videos with 100 credits to spare ($0.49 a video), or 100 Premium videos using all 200 credits.
- 450 videos a month. Unlimited Cat stays at $199 ($0.44 a video) or $119 billed yearly ($0.26). MakeBOF Scale at $99 covers 450 Standard videos ($0.22 each), or $990 a year, which is $82.50 a month ($0.18 each).
The gap shrinks as volume rises, because Unlimited Cat is a flat price. On yearly billing it becomes cheaper than MakeBOF Scale plus credit packs somewhere past 600 Standard videos a month, or about 300 Premium videos, since most Premium styles use 2 credits. So if your 450 a month are all Premium and you pay yearly, Unlimited Cat is the cheaper plan on paper. It also comes with 3,600 generative AI credits a month, and we couldn't find on its pricing page how many AI-generated clips those cover, so check what "unlimited" includes for the videos you'd make. MakeBOF's full plan list is on the pricing page.
Zebracat pricing fine print: video length and refunds
Zebracat's pricing page disagrees with itself on video length. The Cat Mode and Super Cat cards say videos can be any length and each one counts as one video. The comparison table on the same page lists a 2-minute limit for Cat Mode and 5 minutes for the higher plans, and the FAQ describes the paid plans in minutes per year. If length matters to you, ask Zebracat which limit applies before you buy.
The refund terms are plainer. The page offers a 7-day money-back guarantee, with a full refund within 7 days if you haven't downloaded any video, and says there are no refunds for partial months. API access is listed on the Enterprise plan only.
Questions people ask
How much does Zebracat cost?
As listed on October 16, 2026: Free is $0 for 5 videos in total. Cat Mode is $39 a month, or $23 a month billed yearly, for 15 videos. Super Cat is $99 or $59 for 40 videos, and Unlimited Cat is $199 or $119 with no video cap. Enterprise starts at $599 a month. On the capped plans that works out to about $1.48 to $2.60 a video.
Is Zebracat good for TikTok Shop?
It can make short social videos, and its site mentions TikTok, so it can handle the occasional product video where you write the script yourself. Its site doesn't mention TikTok Shop, though, and we couldn't find a way to import shop listings or create videos in bulk. If you post product videos every day, a tool built around TikTok Shop listings saves you the setup on each one.
What's a cheaper Zebracat alternative for TikTok Shop?
MakeBOF is built for this. A Standard video costs $0.38 on Pro, $0.245 on Max and about $0.20 on Scale, against $1.48 to $2.60 on Zebracat's capped plans. You can start on the free plan with 10 credits a month and no card. The trade-off is format: MakeBOF makes one vertical clip of about 8 seconds per product, with no avatar or voiceover.
Does Zebracat have a free plan?
Yes. It gives you 5 videos in total, at 720p and up to 30 seconds each. Watermark removal, 1080p and commercial rights are listed with the paid plans. MakeBOF's free plan gives 10 credits every month (10 Standard or 5 Premium videos), 20 products and 1 posting account.
Does Zebracat offer refunds?
Its pricing page lists a 7-day money-back guarantee, which applies if you haven't downloaded any video, and no refunds for partial months. On MakeBOF you can try the free plan without a card, and a failed video never uses credits on any plan.
Can MakeBOF make explainer or avatar videos like Zebracat?
No. MakeBOF has no talking avatars, no voiceover and no timeline editor, and it makes one clip of about 8 seconds per product instead of long or multi-scene edits. Captions are in English. If you need those things, Zebracat is the better fit.
